Hi all,

After several months away from the blog, I'm back as book work ramps up once again.

UPDATE:

I got reader reports back on my full manuscript at the end of January, wrote my response letter and sent it in mid-February, and on Friday (2/28), got the great news that the editorial board has accepted the book! In a future posting, I'll go through this schedule in more detail as there can be a lot of variation in academic publishing and it's helpful to get a view into someone else's experience.

SO, I've got revisions to do--all exciting and quite doable--and have set myself a deadline of 1 September 2020. More on just what these revisions are in a future post, but they fall broadly into two arenas: deepening the discussion of embodiment throughout the book, and amping up the connections between case studies. What's exciting is that my 'things I've thought since submitting the book' document largely aligned with everything the readers said, so it's all stuff I'm thrilled to be asked for...

In the next few days, I'm making up my schedule for the next six months, considering how best to order my workflow, including what to work on during the semester and what to save for summer. I'll post it here once I've got it set.

After some planning earlier today, however, I know broadly where I've got writing that ended up on the cutting room floor that can slot back in, where I need a reading list for some additional research or to dive back into notes from various archival trips, and where I can delegate some tasks to one of our awesome GAs.

It's exciting to be at this place and to share the rest of the journey with you all!

More soon...
