I have good news and bad news this week.
Bad news is that I’ve written nothing this week. The end of the semester is a solid wall of grading, meetings, events and thesis projects in my department and I’ve had a hard time concentrating on writing tasks of any substance.
The good news is that I spoke to an editor this week and got some great information about the direction my manuscript should go in for their press. Once I have a clear head, I’ve got lots of ideas to implement that will, I think, enable swift and sure progress.
The mixed news is that this will leave a few things I’ve worked on this year without a home in the book. Not too big a deal if I can find other places for those chapters in the near future.
My aim is to revise my big calendar once I’ve got my grades in (including where and how I hope to land those extraneous chapters) share this, and then get right back into it. I’ll detail more specifics about this pivot once I’ve got it mapped out.
